INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Employee Wellness Program has Fall 2025 internships available to Kinesiology Majors.

Internship Goals and Objectives

An internship with the Employee Wellness Program (EWP) will provide students with hands-on experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds in a physical activity setting. Interns will serve as physical activity assistants in the EWP program. This involves interacting with members of the EWP, assisting them with their exercise sessions, completing training and other assignments and other EWP-related tasks.

Students will be able to (Student learning objectives):

• Discuss and implement general exercise guidelines and safety factors for exercise programs in diverse populations
• Demonstrate proper exercises, stretching techniques and equipment usage in a safe and effective manner
• Develop interpersonal skills for leading physical activity across diverse populations 
• Assist in assessing fitness levels and developing individualized exercise recommendations to meet fitness and health goals

ApplicanTs for an internship must possess:

• Availability during the open exercise times of the EWP for the entire semester
• Working knowledge of physical activity programs
  • Preferred if completed KNES 348 and KNES 348L
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Strong team player
• Self-directed and able to handle multiple tasks
• Currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology
